This is wheely good news

New brass bogies.
Over the last 3 months "Trainbuilder" and "Blue and Gold Models" have been working on a reliable supply of bogies for a number of my kits, namely the PL Cars and the V Cars.
The pilot model arrived in Melbourne last week and I'm happy to say that they are beautiful and run smoothly.
Complete with brake rigging, 8 brake shoes, RP88 wheels and "VR" embossed on all axlebox cheek plates.
Each wheel is indivually sprung as per "Trainbuilder" standards.
Compare the new bogie on the left with the BGM one on the right.

CW back on track

The roof has been repaired/remade and the first samples poured. When I'm happy with the results and get a chance to do a run of models the first ones will be for those who have pre odered these models. After that they will be appearing at exhibitions later this year, barring any further mishaps like last time.

VR 50' Goods Shed

My webmaster has spent most of his spare time recently building a new layout and hasn't been working on my website. That's okay, he's only got 8 weeks until Healesville. He has also been trying to recover part of my harddisk that had a virus that tried to wipe out about 5000 train photo's among other things. I offered to build a goods shed for the layout as compensation for the hours (about 30 hrs to recover 11Gb, 1 file at a time). So here is one of my sheds I have built and painted over the last couple of days while I'm still on holidays.

CW update

Re-drafting the original instructions from a multi piece body to a one piece body and re-drawing the diagrams has highlighted a lack of some components needed to finish this kit. Some of these parts have been recieved and I am waiting for delivery of the rest of the pieces.

I was hoping to have these ready before Christmas but it now looks like a Jan '09 release direct and Jan/Feb release for the shops.

Work for the next few months will have me gearing up the production of the steel sided CW's, the CE's and the "SOP" CS Vans for release at the Healesville exhibition in March '09.

Have a safe Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Craig Dunstone.
